Seminar in Austria

In November members of our organization took part in the seminar titled “Let’s talk about it: sexuality, gender and culture” which was held on 2-10.11.18 in Klaffer/Austria within the framework of Erasmus+ project.

The seminar raised the topics of sexuality, gender issues, feminism as well as sexual abuse, stereotypes, gender discrimination and prejudice.

The topics were introduced, studied and discussed in various both serious and entertaining ways:
through group discussions, mini-lectures, choosing one’s standpoint , theatrical workshops, slam performance and aesthetic research.

The variety of methods and techniques used was really abundant and helped the participants to:

  •  learn new information on the topics,
  •  express their point of view, ideas and beliefs,
  •  learn to prevent and stop violence in the street
  •  feel themselves as individuals,
  •  understand their feelings and emotions,
  •  be aware of and learn to respect other people’s feelings
  •  control and relax the consciousness and body.

The trainers of the project Wolfgang (Austria) and Ines (Portugal) were truly committed to the seminar preparation and realization, showed their expertise and competence, created an atmosphere of friendliness and acceptance, encouraged and challenged the participants to work and discover.

About 30 representatives from 9 countries (Spain, Italy, Greece, Lithuania, Austria, Belguim, Poland, Turkey, Portugal) actively participated in the seminar, developed ideas, acted out performances, created installations. What’s more, the group had fun doing warming-up activities, playing games, socializing, presenting national cultures, doing sightseeing in Linz and Vienna.

Coming home, our representatives organized and held seminars for teenagers on Gender issues and for adults on History of feminism, Preventing violence in the street and in families.
